About us
The SIM Foundation equips young people ages 15–24 with practical sexual and reproductive health education, trusted resources and supportive learning opportunities. We help youth from every ethnicity, culture and community make informed decisions and navigate their health with confidence.
We envision a future in which every young person can access reliable health information, ask questions without judgment and connect with appropriate resources and qualified professionals when support is needed.
Executive Director and Founder
Simitri is a public health graduate of North Carolina Central University who discovered her passion for sexual health during her undergraduate studies. With more than eight years of experience in HIV and STI prevention, she is the founder and executive director of SimiSex and the Sexual Intellectual Movement Foundation (SIM).
Sexual Health & Wellness
Dr. Pete is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional and a three-time alumna of the University of South Carolina. Her background spans primary care, education, home health and inpatient care. She currently practices in South Carolina, specializing in care for incarcerated youth.
Youth Member & Marketing
Zariyah is an aspiring social worker and sexual health educator, as well as a trained community organizer, researcher and youth development professional. She is dedicated to developing policies, initiatives and programs that support the well-being of young people and help them feel seen and heard.
Project Management
Ashley holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Clark Atlanta University and a Master of Science in Information Technology with a concentration in Project Management. As the owner of Mental Health Cypher, she is a mental-health advocate who creates spaces for people to discuss mental health openly.
Advocacy & Harm Reduction
Devon is a public health professional and harm reduction specialist based in Denver, Colorado, originally from Dallas, Texas. Her background includes behavioral health, STI testing and treatment, HIV prevention and treatment navigation, and syringe access. She is a writer, a co-host of the Beneath the Briefs sexual wellness podcast and an advocate for stigma-free sexual wellness for all.
Administration & Marketing
Kristy is a graduate student studying Social Work at Kennesaw State University and holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She is the self-published author of I'm Still Healing: A Poetry Collection of Love and Trauma, and is passionate about intimate partner violence prevention and sexual health awareness.
Reproductive Wellness
Kristal is an experienced registered labor and delivery nurse who brings her expertise to maternal health. She is committed to improving maternal health outcomes and reducing maternal mortality.
Financial Management
Monique is a graduate of North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources and Management. She lives in Houston, Texas, where she works as a project manager. With a focus on self-care and wellness, she owns Mo'Aromas, which offers scented self-care candles.
Global Sexual Health
Shakti is a public health specialist and researcher with more than seven years of experience in HIV and sexual and reproductive health, both internationally and in the United States. She is passionate about creating culturally informed sexual health education and making research accessible in clear, digestible formats.
Research & Evaluation
Dr. Smith has spent the past decade making sexual and reproductive health a priority in settings such as universities, state health departments, global healthcare agencies and nonprofit organizations, with a focus on community health strategies.
